RACHEL
REBEKAH

Being surrounded by beauty, art, and community from such a young age set me on the right path to becoming an actor. I trust my intuition, have a strong moral compass, and make decisions that follow my principles. My queer and Christian identities have taught me to understand and love people better. People will say I am prepared, joyful and compassionate — but I say that I am
prepared because I take responsibility, I am joyful because I do what I love, and I am compassionate because I see God in those around me. Family is everything, whether that is chosen or biological. I firmly believe we are on this earth to be in community with one another, and that itself is Theatre.

ABOUT

Hi! I'm Rachel Rebekah Visser, a Chicago-based actor in my final year of the BFA Acting program at The Theatre School at DePaul University.

Born in southeast Wisconsin into a thriving art scene, I developed a love for acting early on. Yearly celebrations of the Wizard of Oz, summer Arts Festivals, and The Old Theater Mall made Oconomowoc the perfect place for an actor to grow up.

Singing at church (and subsequently being referred to as "The Singer" on the streets of my hometown), participating in community theatre, and producing the Visser Vaudeville Variety Hour with my five siblings only solidified my future career.

When I'm not acting, I'm doing yoga, creating content on TikTok (@rachelrvisser), songwriting, annotating my current read, or logging obscene amounts of movies on Letterboxd.

In the end, I hope people say that I worked hard, I loved people, and I made God proud.
